Merziha holds an MA degree in Public Policy from the Central European University in Budapest, Hungary. She has extensive experience designing, managing, coordinating, and implementing various large-scale projects and programmes for equity and access to education for Roma in South-Eastern and Eastern Europe. She has built and developed strategic relationships and partnerships with various stakeholders throughout her work and has worked on developing networks. She previously worked as a Senior Program Officer for the Roma Education Fund in Budapest, Hungary, until January 2020. In that capacity she managed and coordinated long-term regional programmes and led regional network events and capacity building training for students, staff, and external partners. Merziha has also cooperated with several universities in Europe and she piloted and coordinated a four-year project on secondary school scholarships for Roma within the Open Society Foundation North Macedonia.
