First Romani newspaper in Russia

The Russian national daily newspaper Nezavisimaya gazeta reported on June 26, 2001, that the first issue of a Romani newspaper had been published in Samara, central Russia, a town with a large Romani population. The paper is called Romani Duma, reportedly has an initial press run of 20,000, and is the first newspaper in Russia aimed at the Romani community.
